I will waive my attendance allowance of £11,220 if elected, donating it to local good causes.

Reduce the council tax, ensuring Central Bedfordshire delivers the promised cost savings for the new unitary authority.

Preserve and create jobs in our local economy, steering our community through the current economic downturn- securing grants and support for local businesses and start-ups.

I stood as a local Independent Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in 2005, as I believe passionately in bringing change, opportunity and better facilities to our area.

I have lived in the parish for over 11 years, and in Bedfordshire for 30 years.

My children have attended Maulden Lower School, of which I am a Governor, and both will be at Alameda Middle School, Ampthill.

Village schools must be preserved whatever the outcome in the 3 tier vs 2 tier debate. Our schools are the “hearts” of our villages.

Protecting our rural nature, keeping out urban creep of the Wixams development, Ampthill, and Milton Keynes.

Protect and improve village facilities- Post Offices, Shops, Parks & Pubs.

We must improve community facilities like Village halls, allotments, children’s recreational facilities, and Youth Clubs.

Improve road safety, such as pedestrian crossings and 20 mph zones, especially around schools & nurseries.

Improve our Transport links, with regular, cheaper and “greener” buses and trains.

Work with Police to increase patrols and reduce crime.

Improved, high quality services, schooling, safe roads, affordable “greener” housing, curb green-field developments, free social services & heath-care
